Brother Knights,
As 2009 comes to a close we should all take time to reflect on the accomplishments we have made as a Council and I am very proud to be the Grand Knight. Here are just a few accomplishments for our Council:
1. Very successful Lenten Fish Fry (6 weeks)
2. Successful brisket sale (proceeds went to support the St. Theresa Intern)
3. Several successful Tamale sales
4. Successful Second Annual Christmas Pancake Breakfast
5. The quarterly cleaning of the church
6. The Friday Morning Rosary’s which is growing in attendance
7. Support of the seminarian
8. Support of Fr. Rara at the VA Hospital
9. VA Hospital Visits
10. Supporting the Rite to Life with Rosary outside abortion clinics
I know there are many more things which could be listed. For those I did not list, they are just as important as the ones I did list and our Council will continue to support those as well. There are many additional items we need to consider to 2010 and we all need to consider what our Council can accomplish in 2010.
We need to recruit new members and with the Lenten season almost upon us, this is the perfect time to get those you are considering for Knights involved. Any one can come and help with the Fish Frys, just ask them to come out and let them get involved.
With the new year our Council dues are due so you can get your new membership cards. Bob will have the new cards at our next meeting (Jan 14, 2010). I look forward to the coming year with excitement at the potential our Council has and where it can go.
I wish each of you and your families a very Happy, Safe and Prosperous New Year.
Gods Pease be with you,
Garold W. Truax
Grand Knight
